The Auracol
Weighing just over 2 ounces (60 grams) and consisting of light, durable materials, the Auracol works by exerting a constant pressure to the Superficial Temporal Arteries throughout the entire aura phase, stopping your migraine headache dead in its tracks and alleviating debilitating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light.
To be effective in cases of classic migraine, the treatment must begin at the first sign of the visual aura and continued until the aura has completely subsided.
Auracol’s technique of exerting pressure on the Temporal Arteries is supported by research from a Harvard Doctor whose digital massage of the temporal arteries proved successful in 81% of classic migraine attacks.
The Auracol’s method of treatment is backed up by research conducted by Harvard neurologist, Dr Stuart Lipton, MD, Ph.D., who reports that patients who suffer from migraine preceded by visual auras - or classic migraine - could prevent these incapacitating headaches by vigorously exerting pressure on, and massaging the Temporal Arteries by using the middle and index fingers.
Doctor Lipton’s technique, which he calls Digital Massage, successfully treats all patients 81 percent of the time (34 out of 42 attacks) click here for Lipton’s article
Since his article on Classic migraine appeared in the Annals of Neurology in 1986, Dr Lipton notes, that if the treatment is carried out correctly and the pressure is applied to exactly the right area and as soon as the aura begins, the success rate jumps to nearly 90 percent.
Professor Lipton is currently the prize-winning director of the Del E. Webb Center for Neuroscience and Ageing at the Burnham Institute in San Diego.
