A. No. Wearing the Auracol is completely safe and is ideal for pregnant and breast-feeding migraine patients. Very occasionally, there may be slight discomfort caused by having the pressure pads positioned over the superficial temporal arteries. A few patients find the pressure uncomfortable, but overall, the pressure is well tolerated. We recommend that the Auracol not be worn continuously for longer than 1 hour. Those who suffer from Temporal Arteritis* are advised NOT to use the Auracol. Please seek your doctor’s advice if you have any questions.
A. Yes it can be helpful although the Auracol is mostly suitable for headaches with aura, because the exact moment to begin wearing the device is very clearly defined i.e. as soon as the aura phase begins.
In cases of migraine without aura (common migraines) there are rarely such clearly defined warning signals. Nevertheless, some patients do experience some pre-headache symptoms such as a stiff neck, a change in appetite, mood changes (restlessness, irritability), tiredness and acute sensitivity to light, sound and smell. If a patient is able to recognize these warning symptoms of a common migraine attack, then this is the time to begin wearing the Auracol.
In some cases of common migraines, the Auracol can be used to successfully relieve headache pain or it can also be used to suppress pain until the patient’s medication begins to take effect. It is recommended that the Auracol be worn continuously for no longer than 1 hour

A. The Auracol has been used to successfully suppress normal headaches, but the device works best for Classic Migraines or migraines with AURA. It is recommended that the Auracol be worn continuously for no longer than 1 hour.
A. Yes, the Auracol is perfectly safe to use throughout pregnancy and while breast-feeding. Taking conventional migraine medication is not recommended during pregnancy or breast-feeding because of the harm it might do to the growing fetus or young baby. The Auracol is the ideal migraine solution for pregnant and breast-feeding women, as wearing the device prevents headache pain effectively while posing no threat to mother or baby. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding and have any further questions, please ask your doctor.
A. Yes. But even with a combined approach, sufferers should aim to wear the Auracol as soon as possible once the aura phase, or other warning signals, have begun. In cases of Common Migraine, the Auracol can be used to suppress headache pain until the patient’s medication begins to take effect.
A. Yes, for best results, timing is very important. The Auracol should be placed in the correct position over the superficial temporal arteries AS SOON AS THE AURA PHASE BEGINS or as soon as possible once the aura phase has started. For this reason, we recommend that you keep Auracol close at hand at all times. The device is small enough to be carried around in a handbag or glove compartment. Many migraine sufferers prefer to keep two Auracol devices, for example, in the home and in the car or office.
In Classic Migraines, the aura phase is well defined, but in cases of Common Migraines, try to position the Auracol as soon as there is any kind of warning before your headache begins
A. It is recommended that the Auracol be worn continuously for no longer than 1 hour. For migraine attacks with aura, use the Auracol as soon as the aura phase begins and continue wearing it until the aura phase has ended. the aura phase usually lasts from between 15 – 45 minutes.

A. It is very easy to place the Auracol, once you know where your superficial temporal arteries are situated click here for instructions. It is extremely important that Auracol’s pressure pads are positioned exactly over the superficial frontal temporal arteries. If they are not correctly positioned, Auracol might be less effective
